    Motorola joins Intel, Linksys, a Division of Cisco Systems, Inc., and Bell Canada to discuss the HomePlug Alliance's "Proven Worldwide Standard" technology within the Digital Home Ecosystem

    SAN RAMON, CA- September 14, 2005 - The HomePlug® Powerline Alliance announces the addition of Mr. Barry James Folsom to the list of exciting keynote speakers as they share their vision at the first HomePlug Powerline Technology Conference later this month.

    Mr. Barry James Folsom is Corporate Vice President and General Manager at Motorola with their Connected Home Solutions business. A pioneer in bringing emerging technologies to market, he has played pivotal roles in the creation of four major market categories: Personal Computers, Workstations, Internet Data Centers and Web Conferencing. Conference attendees can expect to hear Folsom's vision for the connected home markets and HomePlug powerline technology's role within that ecosystem.

    Barry James' deep experience with broadband & set-top-box applications, multi-media content & media players, and family & home monitoring businesses, will shed a unique light on the multitude of consumer-centric applications of HomePlug technology.

    The HomePlug Alliance's inaugural two-day conference, to be held September 27-28 at the Burlingame Embassy Suites hotel near the San Francisco airport (http://www.homeplug.org), will feature over fifty expert speakers and panelists from a cross-section of industries. Additional speakers and executives at the Conference include representatives from Arkados, Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), Comcast, Conexant, Current Technologies, devolo, Duke Power, Earthlink, Intellon, Leviton, NETGEAR, Parks Associates, Philips, RadioShack Corporation, Sharp and Sony, among others.
